Prof. Dr. Atilla Arıncı graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1981. In the same year, he began his assistantship at the Department of Anatomy and in 1983, he started his specialization in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Arıncı, who became a specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1987, was appointed as a teaching assistant at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in the same year. In 1991, he became an Associate Professor and due to the foreign scholarship he won in the same year, he was sent to the University of London, University College Hospital, Department of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery in England, upon the decision of the faculty board, to conduct research.
Dr. Arıncı, who received training and conducted scientific studies on Aesthetic Surgery in England for two years between 1991 and 1993 and was accepted as a member of the British Association of Plastic Surgeons (BAPRAS) in 1992, became an Associate Professor in 1994 and a Professor in 2000.
Dr. Arıncı, who is a senior member of various associations related to Burns and Aesthetic-Plastic Surgery in England, is an active member of national scientific associations such as the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Turkish Pathology Association, Reconstructive Microsurgery Association, and Aesthetic-Plastic Surgery Association, and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Association. Prof. Arıncı, who has been closely interested in Medical Law for fifteen years, completed his master’s thesis on “Legal Responsibilities of Physicians in Aesthetic Surgery and Works Contract” at Özyeğin University Faculty of Law in 2015, defending his thesis before a jury consisting of academicians in law, and became the first Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist in our country to contribute to the field of medical law. Prof. Dr. Atilla Arıncı, who has given numerous conferences and trainings on Medical Law in universities, TPRECD congresses, private hospitals, bar associations, and various specialty associations, has 260 articles and abstracts published in various domestic and foreign journals in Turkish and English, presented at domestic and international congresses, and has authored chapters in 3 books: “Burns and Their Treatments,” “The Secrets of Plastic Surgery,” and “Medical Law, Laws and Regulations.” Dr. Arıncı has also participated as a session chair, speaker, and attendee in numerous national and international scientific meetings on Aesthetic Surgery and Medical Law.
Prof. Dr. Atilla Arıncı, who also served as the Deputy Head of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine and a member of the Board of Directors of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, currently serves as a member of the Faculty Board of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine and a Senator of Istanbul University at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, and continues his scientific studies at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery of Acıbadem Healthcare Group Bakırköy Acıbadem Hospital.
Prof. Dr. Atilla Arıncı, who is also the Chair of the Legal Working Group and Ethics Committee of the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (TPRECD) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Association (EPCD), provides legal consultancy on Medical Criminal Law, Medical Compensation Law, and Health Tourism Law in Aesthetic Surgery with his colleagues who are experienced lawyers he has worked with for many years, and writes reasoned scientific opinions with case law from the Court of Cassation on these issues.
